SUBJECT: PRESS RELEASE ON PETITION FOR SAFETY 06/16/2009 ROAD AND ITS CONSEQUENCES
Our association on 10/10/2009 had brought the voice of 350 citizens in the Municipality of Ravenna with a tool of grassroots democracy, the petition, a state of danger tract cell and Petros in Ravenna.
The debate had seen a few requests in the conclusion of the petition mouth because not permitted by rules of the road, eg.: Intelligent traffic lights and speed indicator light. High demands, however, of possible application in the face of danger also detected by the technicians of the municipality. The measures were applicable
interventions highlight the existing pedestrian crossings and pedestrian crossings new ones where they were needed, and the possibility of the limit of 30 km / h in small spots (out of the schools, kindergartens, factories).
Despite the availability of the technical commission that day, we unfortunately see that nothing has been done at the time. In addition, the winter rains and heavy snowfalls have removed all the markings of the two ways, increasing the danger.
The town of Wheeler is also, still does not have a sign "electronic speed control," instead installed some time in all its other neighbors.
We realize that the weather conditions were adverse to work on the road, but the period of major accidents is coming (May-August for the agricultural season) and we believe that if in the meantime the few interventions were made possible, it would be better than nothing.
Emilia Romagna is one of the regions with the most accidents on the roads, not just numbers on paper, are "persons" who sometimes leaving wounds, but sometimes lose their lives.
We hope that the City intervene as soon as possible means of complying with the request of the 350 signatories to the citizens and the commitment to this association.
